about me

I am an industrial designer with a decade of experience designing children's wood furniture, seating, and mattresses with a focus on non-toxicity, usability, manufacturability, and value.

I am currently leading the development of MADE SAFE® non-toxic and ecologically-friendly product lines with the challenge of making them for the mass market. An industry-first in an industry where non-toxicity is synonymous with several dollar signs.

Some of my recent work has been prominently placed in Crate & Kids catalogs, including TipToe, their best selling bunk bed.

Less recent work for Capsule Home and Nursery Works has been featured in The New York Times, Bloomberg BusinessWeek, Inc. Magazine, Sight Unseen, Wirecutter, and Metropolis Magazine as well as in Design for Children by Phaidon Press.

Finally, the best parts of my life are outside of work: my wife, Hannah, and my daughter; growing, cooking, and eating(!) food; mountain runs in the San Gabriels; restoring native plant habitat; and continually practicing health, well-being, and sustainability.
