Babyletto’s first bunk bed accomplishes a couple firsts of its own. It’s the only bunk bed where the ladder can be installed on either side and the top and bottom bunks separate into two, identical twin beds.

I was the sole designer for TipToe in 2017-18 and worked directly with our vendor to minimize visible hardware (most bunks under $1,000 have exposed screws), while maximizing utility through the ambidextrous ladder and the handsome twin conversions. Knock-down structural connections use steel barrel bolts and 8mm steel pins, for a rock-solid top bunk, so 200lb dads feel secure during story time.

Getting our retail cost to $999 would not have been possible without the diligence of our in-house sourcing team in Hong Kong and strong partner vendor in Vietnam. This is one of those rare items where the manufacturer and retailer make very healthy margins and the consumer gets a great deal.
